Racing
Auckland-based three-piece, Racing, take rock and roll and inject it with a chemical haze so potent the listener is left both pleased and punished. Once likened to "the thoughts of a crocodile in flood season", the band crafts a swirling sea of groove and hypnosis into rock anthems drenched in a weird tropical dance music.
Racing released their debut album 'Real Dancing' in 2019. They were subsequently nominated for Best Rock Artist at the 2019 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards. Singles 'Motel Pool', 'Run Wild' and 'Party Slow' all reached number one on the rock music charts.
Racing is made up of long-time collaborators Ed Knowles (vocals) and Sven Petterson (guitar), two crucial parts to the colossus that was The Checks. Racing is made whole by the mighty Izaak Houston (drums) formerly of Space Creeps.

ss61
Shann’s music journey started as a young boy fascinated with the way music made him feel. The first album he was given was ‘Let It Be’ by the Beatles and the first album he bought himself was Stevie Wonder’s 'Songs in the Key of Life’ which sparked in him a love of funk and melody. As SS61, Shann 'plays out' with no expectations other than playing the music he loves and sharing the melodic deep house and techno tunes with others whilst continuing to learn and grow.
