Racing - Collins St Festival Headliners 2024

THE COLLINS STREET STORY

The first ever Collins Street Festival, held on 30th November 2024, went off with a bang. It all started back in 2018 with chats among local business owners at the Urban Winery, the National Distillery and B-Studio Brewery. We imagined Ahuriri coming alive with the best music, food, and drinks Hawke’s Bay had to offer.

On that Saturday afternoon in November '24, we hung the Collins St sign high on the stage and the vision finally became reality. Collins Street, tucked behind the Urban Winery, transformed into a buzzing hub of music, flavours, and good vibes.

The street pulsed with energy, featuring local favourites like Deep Fried Funk and House of Beats, alongside legendary headliners Racing and the incredible White Chapel Jak. Food trucks lined the street, beverage producers poured local favourites, and the whole day was a true celebration of community, creativity, and all the things that make Ahuriri special.

The first festival was only the beginning. The love and excitement from everyone who came along inspired us to do it all again - and this time, we’re aiming even higher. Plans are underway for Round 2, and we can’t wait to share the next chapter of Collins Street Festival with you.

Get ready for more music, more food, more fun… and more groove.

we couldn t do this without you

Huge thanks to our venues – the Urban Winery, B-Studio Brewery and National Distillery – for working alongside us to bring Collins Street to life while keeping the drinks supply flowing. A massive thank you to our other vendors for keeping everyone fed and happy: Zeffer, Fortune Favours, State of Play, Sunday's, Black Betty BBQ, Dreamy Dumplings, Tom Tom Tapas & Rush Munros. A big shout out to Rockstuff Records and Spoilt Victorian Child for their epic vinyl and clothing stalls.

The 2024 festival would not have been possible without our incredible local suppliers, there are so many and the nuts and bolts that go in behind the scenes we are extremely greatful for. Y'all know who you are 🙏🏻 A special mention to Sight & Sound Services - that stage was on point. And to Undergrand for that gorgeous baby grand piano - it brought all the between-set vibes we could hope for.

Our gratitude to our partners Hawkes Bay Tourism, Napier City Council, Big Save Furniture, East Pier Hotel, Bazaar Boutique, and Takaroa Trails. To the artists who brought the groove: Racing, White Chapel Jak, Deep Fried Funk, House of Beats, Miakie, Scarlett Eden, Snead Place, Sneeky and SS61. And of course the crew and volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to flip a street into a party. We can't thank you enough.

Finally, to the audience for coming out to dance, eat, sip and party with us right there on the street. You brought the energy, the moves, and the magic that made Collins Street what it was. We can’t wait to do it all again.
